There are many ways to make a ghillie suit, this alone, may be one of
the most curious things about them: that everybody does it a different way. One of the
most spread ways is covered in Major Plasterīs Ultimate Sniper book. There you can find a
nice drawing of the way to stich the netting to the camo fatigues and how-to instructions.
BUT if you want to follow my instructions : I recommend, doing a two
piece suit, as it will be much more versatile
GET A PAIR OF FATIGUES ( a littlle bigger than usual)
STITCH ON THE BACK A 2" SQUARE NETTING OR STICK IT WITH SHOO GOO!!
(ANY NET WILL DO AS LONG AS IT IS AROUND 2" SQ)
THE NET HAS TO OVERHANG ONLY ON THE SHOULDERS AND SIDE OF LEGS AND ARMS
THE IDEA IS TO
HAVE BURLAP ON THE SIDES, BUT NOTHING ON THE FRONT, TO GET TANGLED WHILE LOW CRAWLING
THEN CUT BURLAP IN 12" X 2" PIECES AND TIE IT ONE BY ONE ON THE NET
YOU CAN TINT OR PAINT THE BURLAP TO INCREASE THE EFFECT
IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE SUIT MORE THAN ONCE OR TWICE PUT HEAVY CANVAS ON THE FRONT SIDE
THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO MAKE IT SLIDE THOUGH THE SAND BUT ISOLATE YOU FROM THE ELEMENTS
TO MAKE THE HAT USE A BOONIE HAT WITH NET HANGING UP TO THE SHOULDER IN
THE BACK AND SIDES
PUT A MOSKITO NEETTING OR ANY OTHER SEE-THROUGH WITHOUT BURLAP AT FRONT
YOU CAN USE BURLAP OR ROPE, BUT THE LEVEL OR FRYING IS UP TO YOU
MORE FRYING = better camouflage = MORE WEIGHT & HEAT
ALWAYS USE A FLAME RETARDANT TREATMENT... USE IT !!!!
SNIPERS HAVE DIED JUST FROM A GRENADE SPARK
EVERYBODY DOES IT DIFFERENTLY AND THERE IS NO GOOD WAY .............. JUST DO IT !!
