SNIPER  BOOKS

Marine Sniper, the story of U.S.M.C. "Gunny" Hathcock by Henderson

This is the book that started it all !!

Find all about U.S.M.C. Gunnery Sergeant Carlos  N. Hathcock II, THE BEST SNIPER OF ALL TIMES. The missions of a Marine written by a Marine... this book reflects the kind of heroism , commitment, fielcraft and marksmanship "Gunny " had.  HE was simply stated : "The sniper we all want to be !!    BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

The Ultimate Sniper by John Plaster, THIS IS THE BOOK IF YOU COULD ONLY BUY ONE

If you can only buy one book BUY THIS ONE !!

I am partial about Major Plaster's book as it has been my own bible for the last 6 years !! It has flaws, as everything, but covers all the sniper spectrum with a depth never found before on any manual. It is readable and has lots of ilustrations that help get the ideasall the . For the end of 2000 the spanish version !!   BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

TC 23-14 Military Manual

US ARMY TC - 23 - 14

This is the best executed military manual around, the information is extensive but focused on the ARMY's equipment and tactics, and the graphics are much better than the other milspec manuals around.   BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

From SNIPERCRAFT'S boss Derrick D. Bartlett

This is a fine example of what an advanced sniper manual has to be. It is  NOT a shooting ( there are many ) one BUT a speciallized analisis of his role as a tactical officer, on all it's different  facets:  mission analisis, sniper roles, sniper responsibilities and liabilities, how to work with your supervisors and how to survive the good and the bad moments of every sniper ( training, absences from the family, being in court for doing your work....) . If you are an active police sniper YOU SHOULD HAVE this one.                BUY AT www.snipercraft.org

U.S.M.C. Scout/Sniper Manual

This is a very interesting manual , it explains the tactics of the Marine Snipers (IMHO the best in the world) so just for that it is a MUST BUY. I have to say that although good,  this manual is CRUDE... if you like fancy pics and graphics... forget it. !!   BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

U.S. ARMY  S.O.T.I.C.  COURSE

This is the NEWLY RELEASED ARMY SNIPER MANUAL !!  If you already have the TC 23-14 this is the one for you, very much expended tactics and new policies on the NEW N.A.T.O. peace keeping (read M.O.U.T.) roles. BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

SEAL  SNIPER  PROGRAM

This is not a training manual per-se, it is the sniper course outline . But as a training tool for sniper instructors it IS VERY GOOD. The manual is as many other milspec ones : very crude with drawings like your kid (or you) would do...BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

ONE SHOT ONE KILL, by C.W.Sasser & C.Roberts

American Combat Snipers: World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Beirut. The books shows the story of US snipers by narrating the personal stories of the snipers their tactics. being a novel like book it deserves being here because it is so true to reality that apart from being extremely thilling it is the place to learn how tactics have evolved over the years. Learn how the European WWII snipers fought and how the lessons learned on each war where applied on the following one.  BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

THE GERMAN SNIPER 1941 - 1945 by Peter Senich

By the most prolyphic sniper expert, the whole story of European sniping in the WWII.   Major Koenig and his colleagues where the most deadly snipers of all time and considering the shift the sniper role has taken on the new NATO operations ( MOUT ) knowing their tactics is a must for all of us. BUY FROM PALADIN PRESS

DEAR MOM A SNIPERS  VIETNAM, Joseph T. Ward

TRUST ME....  DON' T BUY IT !!!

I would really love to now what is the background of Mr.Ward but his book is NOT worth a sniper's hard earned $$.

RIFLE  SHOOTING  (TIRO CON RIFLE), Bill Pullum

The best position rifle shooting book on the market. This is where it all starts.. on being able to SHOOT and HIT.

THE POOR MAN JAMES BOND SERIES Vol 1, 2, 3 & 4

I don't even know if these books are still legal in the US. Reading them, will show you the level of knowledge you can expect from the urban guerrillas. KNOW YOUR FOE. They are full of chemistry, homemade guns and explosives, military manuals and the kind of survival know-how old west rangers had.

THE ART OF WAR  ( El ARTE DE LA GUERRA )

If you have been to any Military Academy be it or xx, xx, , Kiev or Zaragoza you have undoubtedly read this book. If you have not.... WHAT are you waiting for  . There is a before and an after reading this book, in both your military/police carreer AND your life. It has been translated to more than 35 languages.....

GUNS CRIME & FREEDOM, Wayne LaPierre  foreword by Tom Clancy, Published by the N.R.A.

This is the best "ammo" you can have, to defend you right to keep and bear arms. Lots of FACTS ( with footnotes and bibliography) and clues on how to defend your "politically incorrect" rights (and job).

SCHARFSCHUTZEN  GEWERE  ( Sniper Rifles )

This guy has test fired ALL the sniper rifles you can think of..... here is the proof. Don't look for any kind of sniping analisis, just bare data on the rifles and how they group. SORRY ONLY IN GERMAN ....

These books are also very interesting, even they are NOT about sniping they adress TACTICAL and MILITARY skills that should be known by ALL snipers.

Soon, as time permits, book tests and pics, but until then ...
a complete sniper book list !!

Tom Berenger, Billy Zane, JT Walsh.

It is a nice film, shame on those stupid electronic reticles on the sniper scopes and "killer" commentaries destroy it's credibility (like when SgtM.Beckett files little imperfections on his FMJ bullet with a  knife and talks about it's terminal balistic effects....) .

In any case the use of real equipment and the recreating of Carlos Hathcock's feats make it a GO !

click on pic for film data.

SILENT TRIGGER  ( Soldado)

Dolph Lundgen

It is a very good equipped film ( .50 cals, Leica scopes and binocs, "wind meters".. ) the problem is that it explores a sniper hitman that has moral problems when confronted with a target obstructed by a kid ( as always) and fails to eliminate it. He is given a second chance on a claustrophobic skyscraper... with a female sniper..... TOO "DARK AND COMPLICATED".

You will like it because of the tactics and equipment and will have an evening laugh with your sniper comrades,

click on pic for film data. LEON  ( El Profesional), by Luc Besson

Jean Reno, Gary Oldman Natalie Portman

From the director of Nikita and The great Blue comes the story of  hitman called LEON.  He trains Natalie Portman on becoming a hitman starting with "sniping".

You will love this film, even though it only has a few minutes of actual sniping.
